Obituary

Richard C. Freimund

Richard C. Freimund, age 81, of Lake Isabella passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2018 at home.

Richard was born on February 12, 1938 to Clinton & Alice (Collins) Freimund in Edwardsburg, MI.  He was raised in the Cassopolis area.  Richard served his country proudly in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958.  Richard, “Dick” is what most people called him but his girls called him Dad. He was always kind, patient and supportive of us. We loved our horses and he was always good about helping. Dogs and cats and for a short time a goat and he never said no. He was a very talented woodworker and made our homes welcoming. He always had lots of friends and people coming by to get advice on how to fix things or borrow a tool. So many great memories of a great Dad. We were lucky to have him.  Dick enjoyed snowmobiling, watching NASCAR and football games, and in his younger years golfing. He loved spending time outdoors; but he especially loved being with his family. He owned his own company, Business Machine Company in Lansing.   Dick is survived by his; children, Candice (Len) Hovarter and Jill (Greg) Lueck; significant other, Christine Vejick; grandchildren, Abbie, Josh, Kacie, Alec and Luke He is also survived by siblings, Helen Nalied, Marjorie Harding and Charles Freimund and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents.

Honoring Richard’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will take place in the spring.
