Norma June Oakley

Norma June Oakley, 84 years old of Weidman went to be with the Lord on April 18, 2020 at the Isabella Medical Care Facility. Norma was born June 24, 1935 in Brighton, MI.  She grew up in the Fowlerville area and graduated from Fowlerville Community Schools. She was employed by the Hillcrest Center and Mt. Pleasant Center in the housekeeping department, retiring after 25 years of service. On October 29, 1988 Norma married William Oakley Sr. at the Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a faithful member of the Chippewa Hills Baptist Church and she loved the Lord. Norma enjoyed feeding and watching the birds, cooking, word search puzzles and spending time with family.

She is preceded in death by her husband William Oakley Sr., parents Theron and Viola (Shipley) Phillips, Brother Don (Ernestine) Phillips, brother in law Frank Ruttman.

She leaves behind her daughter Susan (Ronny) Sprague of Weidman. Six step children Jessie Oakley of Oakdale, Calf., Mary (Bruce) Blaylock of Dickson, TN., Donna Oakley of  Lagrange, GA., William (Diane) Oakley Jr. of Manteca, Calf. Sam (Deb) Bowlsby of Spring Hill. FL., Butch (Sandy) of Vermilion, OH. 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 4 great great-grandchildren, sister Betty Ruttman and sister in law Doris (Jim) Popoff.

A memorial service is being planned at a later date due to the current Coronavirus pandemic restrictions. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Chippewa Hills Baptist Church Remus, MI.

A special thank you to New Hope Assisted Living and the Isabella Medical Care Facility for the compassionate care you provided to Norma.
